Tucked into a wooded hillside within the Black Rhino Reserve of the greater Pilanesberg National Park, Lush private game lodge is a boutique family-owned and managed retreat.
Five luxury suites provide guests with ultimate privacy and a true haven from the noise of city life.
The 55 000 hectare Pilanesberg National Park is encircled by the hills of a volcanic ring-dike complex and contains both Kalahari and Lowveld biomes. Nearly all animal species endemic to Southern Africa are found here. The malaria-free private concession of the Black Rhino Reserve affords guests at Lush a rare opportunity to see black rhino during unique and intimate game drives during their stay.
The contemporary lodge takes inspiration from the surrounding environment with stylishly simplistic décor and natural finishes. Sheltered from the wind and warmed by the morning sun the focus is repeatedly on the magnificent views with multi-level spaces combining indoor-outdoor living.
The open-plan dining and lounge areas are warmed by two fireplaces in the winter months, whereas summertime is perfect for dinners under the stars or around a blazing fire in the boma.

Lush Private Lodge has traversing access to the whole of Pilanesberg, including the Black Rhino Game Reserve and the park’s limited-access Wilderness Area – established for the protection and breeding of this critically endangered animal. For guests at Lush, this means extraordinary game viewing and exclusive photographic opportunities. Twice-daily game drives are topped with scenic breaks for refreshments.
With conservation initiatives high on its agenda, the park is also home to the Brown Hyena Project and Cheetah Project.
The lodge also offers guided morning bushwalks, allowing you to immerse yourself into the very essence of the bushveld, its sounds, smells and sights of the smaller intricate details you miss whilst on a vehicle. Bushwalks allow you to stop as desired for fantastic photographic moments.
Booked separately guests can embark on magnificent hot air balloon adventures.
